Light and Fluffy Sponge Cake: A Simple Dessert Favorite

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

 In a bowl, beat 4 large eggs and 1 cup of granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.

Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and beat until well combined.

Gradually fold in 1 cup of sifted all-purpose flour until just incorporated.

 Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the sponge cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
