Homemade Birthday Cake: A Sweet Celebration Staple

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a bowl, cream 1 cup of softened butter with 2 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in 4 large eggs, one at a time, then mix in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.

Alternately add 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 cup of milk to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour.
