Zesty Orange Cookies: A Burst of Citrusy Sweetness

Cream together 1/2 cup of softened butter and 3/4 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and the zest of one orange.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.

Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

 Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Let the orange cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
